The story of Benoit the Magician
My story
Discover the journey that has shaped my universe, from London to the Breton stages, between magic, live performance and human encounters.
01 — The arrival in London
In 2014, I left France to settle in London with a simple idea: to learn English, discover a new culture and live an adventure abroad.
At that time, nothing predestined me to become a magician. I was simply looking to build my future in a city renowned for its energy, diversity and the opportunities it offers to those who dare to step out of their comfort zone.
Every day is a discovery. The bustling streets, the artists, the shows and the London buzz feed my curiosity. Unbeknownst to me, I am gradually getting closer to a world that will transform my life.
I was just a young expatriate looking for a job. Yet, a simple coincidence is about to disrupt all my plans.

02 — The encounter that changes everything
On the day of the interview, I was surprised to discover that it was a shop specialising in the magical world. The manager then showed me a trick with magical lights, quickly explained how it worked, and then asked me to present it in front of a group of children present in the shop.
I still remember their reactions.
First, silence. Then laughter, exclamations and wonder. For the first time, I discover the unique pleasure of creating a moment of surprise and emotion in others.
At that precise moment, something changes. Magic enters my life and will never leave.
03 — The Covent Garden School
Very quickly, the shop becomes much more than just a workplace. Located in the heart of Covent Garden, it is frequented by artists from all over the world: magicians, jugglers, musicians and street performers.
I spend hours observing them.
In Covent Garden, the audience is never guaranteed. You have to know how to grab attention, create an immediate connection, improvise and maintain the interest of an entire crowd. Each performance is a challenge where humour, rhythm and stage presence are as important as technique.
This school of live performance teaches me skills that no book could convey. The more I observe these artists, the more one idea imposes itself on me: one day, I too will take to the stage.

04 — Building your own show
Motivated by this goal, I begin to work tirelessly. I learn the techniques, study the great classics of magic, test new ideas and rehearse again and again.
Over the months, I discover that magic is not just a simple trick. Behind each effect lies a story, a staging, a rhythm and a unique way of interacting with the audience.
Little by little, my own universe is taking shape. I am developing my style, refining my presentation, and building a show that truly reflects me.
This daily work allows me to transform a simple curiosity into a genuine artistic project.
05 — The Magic Corner
Just six months after discovering magic, an exceptional opportunity arises: to perform at the famous Magic Corner in Covent Garden.
This legendary location has hosted street artists for decades, allowing them to test their shows in front of one of the most demanding audiences in the world.
The day I step onto this improvised stage remains a memorable moment. Amidst passers-by, tourists, and regulars of Covent Garden, I perform my own show in front of a real audience.
This moment represents much more than just a performance. It marks the transition from a dream to a reality. Magic is no longer just a discovery or a hobby: it becomes a true vocation.

Nowadays...
06 — From London to Brittany
The following years allow me to continue this adventure and to professionalise. Weddings, anniversaries, restaurants, private events, companies: each performance enriches my experience and refines my way of conceiving magic.
Now based in Brittany, near Rennes, I share this passion through shows and activities suitable for all audiences.
Whether it is at a wedding, a cocktail party, a birthday, a family show or a professional event, my goal remains the same: to create emotion, provoke wonder and offer a true moment of sharing.
If I had been told upon arriving in London that a simple job advertisement would change my life, I would never have believed it.
Yet, that is exactly what happened.
And it all started with a simple advertisement for a sales position.
